CHENEY GIVE BACK

If you received a Cheney Grant to help fund your trip, you are required to participate in a "Give Back" activity. Please select one of the activities from the list below, or send us an e-mail (uwyostudyabroad@gmail.com) to propose your own.

Give Back #1: Study Abroad Booth
We are always in need of returned study abroad students to represent our programs by standing at our display booth during various campus resource fairs.Volunteers help answer student and parent questions about studying abroad. They also help with setting up and tearing down the display board. We will need 2-4 volunteers at each of the following events, Campus Pass (September 14), Discovery Days (November 16, Feb 15 & March 29), World Language Day (April), and each Orientation session (May & June).

Give Back #2: Student Bloggers  (Virtual Give Back)
Each semester we seek Cheney Scholars to feature as our student bloggers. This requires a commitment to posting a professional blog post once a week, throughout your study abroad experience. However, if you have already returned, you can also give-back by allowing us to feature your story on our blog. To complete this give back you simply fill out the following form and submit photos from your trip. We will take care of the rest.

Give Back #3: Photo Montage/Video  (Virtual)
We are in constant need of media that captures student study abroad experiences in a positive light. As such, you can fulfill your give back by creating a 2-5 minute video or photo slideshow (with music) about your study abroad experience. Photos and Videos cannot include any of the following: profanity of any kind, drinks of any kind, nudity of any kind (sorry, no swimsuit photos).Google "free photo slideshow maker" for great slideshow creation options, or YouTube (Mac users) "iMovie Basics" or  (PC users) "Moviemaker tutorials" for easy instructions on how to edit video! All videos and slideshows must be uploaded to YouTube. Simply send us the link when you are done; we will add it to our playlist.

Give Back #4: Public Presentation (In Person)
You can also give back by giving a public presentation about your trip (you must mention your funding during the presentation). Students often present to classes, student organizations, high school students, etc. There may also be opportunities for you to present about our trip at an info session for our office. Please e-mail us the date and time of your presentation.

Also, stay tuned for other give back opportunities. We often e-mail last minute give back opportunities. You have 1 year to fulfill your give back.
